Our client serves a global customer base and must notify customers when products reach end of life or when specifications change. Managing and disseminating product change notifications at this scale required consistent coordination and timely communication. The primary operational and technical challenges were grouped into four areas.

Our solution
We designed and implemented a structured PCN application on Azure Cloud to modernize how product change notifications are created and managed. During implementation, we consolidated PCN workflows, integrated SAP data through Azure Data Hub and Salesforce APIs, automated notification sequences, and introduced controlled communication formats to reduce manual dependency.

The application supports end-to-end visibility across PCN lifecycles, from creation and review to customer notification tracking. Bringing data, workflows, and notification handling into a governed cloud environment gave the client’s teams a clearer operating structure. PCNs now move through each stage in a predictable manner, changes are easier to trace, and system performance remains stable even as volumes increase.
Structured workspace for coordinating product change communication
The dashboard brings PCN creation, review, and management into one structured view that supports day-to-day coordination. It runs consistently across desktop and iPads, enabling teams to check email status, review customer records, and manage exclusion lists. Users can also track unsubscribe requests and access shipping history without switching between multiple tools.

Connected data architecture supporting accurate and timely PCN processing
Secure API integrations connect the application with Azure Data Hub and Salesforce to retrieve SAP data in real time. As a result, product updates, customer details, and related records remain synchronized, which reduces manual reconciliation and supports faster, more dependable PCN processing across teams.

Workflow-based notifications for timely and accountable communication
The application automates the creation and distribution of customer notification emails. It records delivery status, maintains communication logs, and limits manual intervention so customers receive accurate product change updates on time while preserving transparency and compliance requirements.

Standardized communication formats with dynamic personalization controls
Configurable email templates allow users to define structured formats using dynamic keywords linked to PCN and customer data. Hence, consistent messaging can be maintained across regions while still allowing personalization where needed, which reduces drafting effort and improves clarity for both customers and suppliers.
