BACKGROUND
The front end client ROQLogics wanted Softweb to develop a tool with rich user interface for Nikken nTouch Media Centre. Nikken wished to extend the user experience and interface accessibility of its existing PHP application. Utilizing this, the users would create Slideshows, eCards and Videos adding customized audios, photos, graphics and text and publish it on web; or email to the other users. The main motive of Nikken was to offer a chance to the professionals to present their effective business information in the most alluring manner; making most of time and process.

For the better user experience it was necessary to make the tool user friendly and feature rich. Softweb was asked to craft a tool with the functionalities using which the users can create presentations giving personal touch.

There was also the need to have following features for launching it as a superlative tool:

  • Pre built slide shows and e-cards
  • Personal library
  • Standard library
  • Collection of videos, audios and images
  CHALLENGE:
To create a web interface having plenty of functionalities that can offer rich experience to the users was the main motive. The application was to be developed in a way that enables the users to form their presentations in minimal time.

The other challenging features, vital in Flex based Web Application were:
  • Interactive UI to support in all Operative Systems and all Browsers.
  • Interactive drag and drop functionality in all the assets
  • Update real-time thumbnail preview in asset library.
  • Real-time data updating with all other palette
  • Library with hundreds of images
  • Improved application performance and memory management
  • Interactive uploader to upload media with progress bar
  SOLUTION:
For developing a rich user interface, we worked on the existing PHP system and converted it into a powerful web based Flex application by integrating it to PHP API provided by client.
  • We have created different view of drag and drop control for all types of media.
  • The functionality is developed due to which the users can work on other areas while uploading the media and don't have to wait till it is been updated.
  • There is an image generating function which enables to generate slideshow/slide/eCard thumbnails and save them on server.
  RESULTS:
The extensive efforts of Softweb have resulted into a full-fledged tool that lets people enjoy power of presentation. With its development, Nikken has introduced the most revolutionary business building tool that can make communication easy and attractive. This makes it trouble free to develop powerful and valuable presentations with fun. The tool developed by Softweb would give the chance of online communication which is the most effective way of marketing.
