BACKGROUND

The company is a global leader in offering virtualization solutions from the desktop to the datacenter. It wanted to develop a Workbook to help building a high-level Virtual Infrastructure Operations Plan (VI OPS) for any organization. The workbook needed to have four sections where any organization can fill up their data and send the document to review it to the company and get it back with virtual play which is suitable to the organization. There were also requirements to:

  • load all the pages easily, without the need of refreshing them
  • store the data in local system for quick display
  • save the data on server at frequent intervals automatically

 
CHALLENGE:

While creating a workbook in Flex, we came across a number of challenges by solving which, we could reach to the completion of the project. We had to search a way to generate PDF and Word documents of the data once all the information is filled in the workbook.

And the greatest challenge we had to meet was to transfer the data from Flex interface to server side technology like PHP and insert the data into database.


SOLUTIONS:

As the documents containing the information and data of the clients are very important to the company, it should be well formatted. And so instead of generating document directly from Flex, we decided to generate it using client and server side technology.

And it was, by using the XML encoding that we transferred the data from flex to server side technology.

The company is one of the fastest-growing public software companies that offer customers a superior choice for virtualization solutions. Softweb has provided the workbook, integrating all the needed features which enable the company to ensure business continuity to its customers. Now, with this workbook the company can get the perfect data/information from its clients, save them securely and suggest the best and most suitable solutions to them.
