BACKGROUND

Pink Paper, Ink, is a wedding stationery provider company in the US which also offers mailing service to their customers. The client wanted to capture the wedding and party stationery market with an attractive shopping cart that offers a real-time experience to visitors.

The client also wanted different functionalities that would make it easy for their customers to select the wedding/party card of their choice in a minimal amount of time. We decided to use Magento as the solution, as it would offer the best possible solutions to the client.

 
CHALLENGE:

A list of major challenges is given below:

  • The client wanted a banner on the home page which could be maintained and updated by them. Considering this requirement, we needed to develop a banner management function that would give them the ability to easily keep the banner updated.
  • The client also wanted a function whereby visitors could select wedding/party card templates and make them personalized with names, venues, etc. For this feature, we needed to find a suitable third party tool and integrate it with the Magento template.
  • We need to develop a facility that would enable visitors to sort out the templates from the master list per their criteria and choices.
  • Finally, we were expected to deliver the shopping cart with the functionalities of search and live chat.


SOLUTIONS:

Selecting the template of Magento, we integrated a theme and did lot of customization in code to meet the client's requirements

  • For banner management, we created a CMS block and built an entirely customized module. This allows the client the ability to add preferred designs and products manually and to highlight them on the home page banner.
  • To create the function of card personalization, we decided to integrate a third party tool called Zeta Print. The integration of Zeta Print with Magento was challenging, as this combination prevented several of the Magento features from working. But with customized coding, we were able to make it possible to harness all the features of both Magento and Zeta Print.
  • By modifying the Magento code, we developed a process that enables visitors to filter templates by colors, positions, names, etc.

RESULTS:

Through our extensive efforts, the client now has a customized, feature-rich shopping cart that offers a unique service to their target audience. Now visitors can easily select their choice of wedding stationeries and party invitation cards and can personalize them with their own information.
