BACKGROUND

In the digital age, community is all about gathering people with shared interests and giving them a platform to interact with each other.

The client needed a secure portal for starting e-groups or communities amongst its members. This was to be a Social Networking Site where people of all types could join & communicate after seeking permission from the portal. The purpose of E-Clubs was to enhance the local portal with a mature system that would facilitate an organization's communications to its members, for members to communicate with each other, and for maintaining vital profile/contact information on each member.

CHALLENGE:

The challenge was to create a themed, comprehensive community portal that would have blogs, forums & knowledge tools. The look and feel needed to be customizable enough to give users the feeling that they have not left the local site. Alternatively, the local chapter could use a frame so that other options available to nonmembers were still available while members were logged into the e-Clubs system.

SOLUTIONS:

After a detailed study of the project requirements; few reference models and extensive discussions with clients by our Client Engagement team, we provided a new design to the website that had a professional feel at the same time was also pleasing to the eye. Pictures, designs and colors were used in a very interesting way so as to keep the visitor engrossed. Members were able to upload their pictures, create profiles and even search for other members with shared interests.

We employed our proven offshore software development model to develop the website.

RESULTS:

The result was a multifaceted community environment that reflected the tastes of users who would interact in it. The portal was dynamically controllable with feeds for events, news & discussion groups incorporated easily.

The e-Club website is one of the best Online Community. The e-clubs portal allows members of an organization to log into the system as users, update their detailed profile/contact information including family information, hobbies, nicknames, job information, as well as organization specific items (roles in the organization, member history, etc.). This information serves as tags when searching for members. In addition, users can even post pictures and maintain a member photo album.
